WWE has always had huge male stars and when you think of WWE you almost immediately think of superstars like John Cena, The Rock, Randy Orton and so many more superstars who have made the company what it is today. On the other side of the spectrum though you have the Divas and they are very crucial to the company, some people say. When you think of the WWE Divas you think of people like Melina, The Bella Twins, Eve Torres and many more. The slogan WWE puts under the Divas is “Sexy Smart And Powerful” but many wrestling fans think that the Divas are just there for show and they are not doing a single thing to push the company forward. Lets break down the positives and the negatives.
The Positives
Any sport around the world should be equal and both men and women should be allowed to participate in any sport that they choose. Divas are good for WWE because it adds a female touch to the shows and of course the Divas are very good looking; many refer to them as sexy. The list of famous Diva champions is as long as your arm, and includes names like Trish Stratus, Beth Phoenix, Mickie James and so many more. They have all had good long runs with the title. There is currently a new breed of high profile Diva talent, including Eve Torres, who has been champion a lot over the last 12 months or so and recently the Bella Twins, who have really stepped up their performance after many said they were only in the company for show.
The Negatives
I have never been very interested in the Divas because they simply don’t offer much excitement inside the ring and the storylines don’t have much power behind them. The most impressive storyline I have ever seen for the Divas was when Michelle McCool was involved with Mickie James back in 2009. Sadly though, the Diva angle does not interest the fans all that much and WWE very much needs to do something about that or the talented female wrestlers around the world may be left out in the cold.
Finally I think Divas are a very important part of the WWE and the storylines need to be pushed up a bit and then the sky is the limit. With the recent debut of Kharma in the WWE anything is possible and I cannot wait to see how WWE use her in the company. Diva power.
